Here’s why: 1.RO membranes don’t work like simple “sieves” oThe “pore size” of 0.0001 µm is a nominal value, not a literal hole size. oThe membrane is made of a semi-permeable polymer with a dense molecular structure. oTransport occurs by diffusion and solubility differences, not by mechanical “fit.” 2.Water diffuses through the polymer material oH₂O molecules can embed themselves in the membrane material (because they are small and polar). oThey then migrate at the molecular level through the polymer — similar to how gases can diffuse through rubber. oThis is a selective process: only molecules of certain size, polarity, and charge can pass. 3.Pressure drives the process oIn reverse osmosis, high pressure (typically 3–8 bar) is applied to the water. oThis pressure “pushes” the H₂O molecules through the membrane, while dissolved substances (salts, viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, etc.) are held back. Conclusion:​ Water can pass through a membrane with a nominal pore size of 0.0001 µm because: ∙The membrane is not a mechanical sieve. ∙Water diffuses through at the molecular level. ∙The process depends on physicochemical properties, not just on “hole sizes.”

No. The system comes with a high-end 3-way kitchen faucet with flexible silicone hose and metal hand shower that replaces your existing one. It provides both filtered and unfiltered water, so no drilling for an additional faucet is needed. In some cases, it may be necessary to drill a small hole in the wall of the kitchen cabinet, for example toward the dishwasher or washing machine, to allow convenient access for connecting the filter tower to the power supply.

With new reverse osmosis systems, or after replacing the activated carbon filter, a short-term foam formation on the filtered water may occur. This foam is caused by trapped air and is completely harmless. In most cases, it disappears on its own within a few seconds to minutes. Foam formation decreases the longer the system is in operation. Therefore, after installing a new system — or after a filter change — flush the unit thoroughly until the water runs clear and free of foam.

To ensure the highest possible water quality, there is an important technical background: What happens during the first minute of the flush cycle? ∙The integrated molecular membrane does not reach full performance instantly; it needs a short moment under water pressure to contract optimally. ∙During this process, the pore size decreases — a natural effect that makes filtration of microscopic particles and germs even more effective. ∙Only after this short “warm-up time” can the system purify water at the highest level. Yes, the system is equipped with an automatic flushing function. Several integrated mechanisms ensure that the system remains hygienic and always delivers fresh, high-quality filtered water: ∙Automatic flush every 12 hours:​ As long as the system is connected to the power supply, it automatically flushes the Filter Tower every 12 hours. This removes standing water from the tower and keeps the filters active and clean. ∙Additional flush after longer draw-offs:​ After each extended water draw, the system also performs a short automatic flush to further ensure hygiene. The Filter button on the display is used to reset the filter bar indicators (RO, ECF, C2) after a filter replacement. ∙Function:​ The Filter button resets the bar display of the respective filter stages on the screen, ensuring that the runtime of the new filter is recorded correctly. ∙When to use it?​ Immediately after replacing one or more filter elements, to update the display. ∙Important:​ Please follow the exact procedure described in the user manual provided with your system.

The Reset button on the UrQuelle Filter Tower display is used to reset the system in certain situations. It should be used in the following cases: 1.After a filter replacement​ – To update the internal system settings after a filter has been changed. 2.When the child lock has been activated​ – This safety feature is triggered if the system has been running continuously for more than 30 minutes.​ – In this case, press and hold the Reset button for 5 seconds until an acoustic signal (a beep) sounds. This will release the lock.

The AQUANTIS UrQuelle Diamant system is equipped with a fourfold safety system that reliably protects against the release of large amounts of water: 1.Intelligent shut-off system in the filtration area​ – The system detects even the smallest amounts of leaking water and automatically shuts down to prevent damage. 2.Water stopper with floor placement​ – A high-quality, battery-operated water stopper (powered by long-lasting button cells) that must be placed on the floor where both the Filter Tower and the Energy Module stand.​ – If it detects moisture, it immediately blocks the water supply.​ – If the battery runs out, the water supply is also blocked automatically.​ – After replacing the battery, the system can be used as usual. 3.Automatic shut-off in the event of a power failure​ – If the power supply is interrupted (e.g., during a power outage), the system automatically stops operation. 4.Child lock for continuous operation​ – If the faucet remains open for more than 30 minutes continuously, the system automatically locks.​ – The lock can be released by pressing and holding the Reset button for 5 seconds.

The AQUANTIS UrQuelle Diamond system is designed for households and facilities with a consistent, year-round demand for fresh drinking water. If the system remains unused for more than 4 weeks and is disconnected from both power and water supply, the filter in the filter tower should be replaced using Filter Replacement Set 1 to ensure perfect hygiene. If it remains unused for more than 8 weeks, both the filter tower and the Energy Module require replacement with Filter Replacement Set 2. For users who are frequently away for extended periods (e.g. frequent travelers, vacation homes, or secondary residences), this may result in higher maintenance costs – meaning the system may only be economically worthwhile to a limited extent. In general, the AQUANTIS UrQuelle Diamond system requires sufficient space in the base cabinet beneath the kitchen sink for proper installation.
